Pastor Rob's Notes
Text: Acts 3:1-10
Key Scripture: Vs 6
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”
The lame man simply wanted to be supported IN the condition that he was in. God had something better in mind; Jesus wanted to completely change his condition.
3 keys to reach the lost
1. You gotta have Faith
Heb 11:1 faith is not rocket science
We must be like A little child and have Faith that no matter what it will happen.....
Peter had faith to pray
The man had faith to look up and expect
2. You gotta put your FAITH into ACTION.
Action is DOING SOMETHING!
Action for Peter was lifting the man up by the hand!
Action for lame man was standing up and walking dancing shouting!
We are not saved by works
But FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD!
However works with out faith is no good!
Many will get to heaven...
Many will say I DID THIS IN YOUR NAME.....
But HE says depart from me I never knew you....scary thought!
3. You gotta give GLORY TO GOD
(no matter the outcome or results)
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him
Peter gave glory by telling him to tell all what Jesus had done
Lame man praise God by running around showing people all God did.
Thomas Aquinas, a religious leader of another generation, once visited the pope and was shown all of the treasures of the Roman Church.
The pope said to Thomas, “Well, Thomas, no longer can the church say, ‘Silver and Gold have I none.”
Thomas replied, “Yes, Holy Father, but have you ever thought that the church is in danger of also not being able to say. ‘In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk’?”
In this Easter Season Lets use our Faith to move us into ACTION to invite others to Church. 82% of those invited will say YES!
Then give Glory to God and trust HIM to do the rest!
