Pastor Rob's Notes

Ephesians 4:1-6, 16

The Apostle Paul speaking to the church said...

1. Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. 2. Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.

3 Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. 4 For there is ONE body and ONE Spirit, just as you have been called to ONE glorious hope for the future.

5 There is ONE Lord, ONE faith, ONE baptism, 6 and ONE God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all.

16. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. All For ONE...

Webster gives us a couple of definitions for teamwork. The first one says = 2 or more people working together and the second one says = a single unit composed of individual components for the purpose of accomplishing a common goal.

And for Crosspoint that common goal is leading people to Jesus!!! Loving people to life so that Jesus makes all the difference for them like He does for us!!! In fact it's the greatest goal for us as a church & as individuals!!!

That's why Paul says we are many, yet at the same time we are ONE. ALL FOR ONE!!! We're a team and our team is defined by our relationship to Jesus Christ.

And in our text we find some important principles related to TEAMWORK that I want to review today...

Principle #1... Teamwork involves many people who are often VERY different.

Principle #2... Teams work for the good of everybody. We ALL benefit.

Principle #3... We will accomplish much more together than we will apart.

So it's very critical that everyone gets involved in the process. This brings us to an acronym for the word TEAM that has become very popular. Here it is.......

TOGETHER EVERYONE ACCOMPLISHES MORE

So this challenge today is two-fold...#1 If you are not already signed up for a Crosspoint Volunteer Team you can sign up today or if you already signed up & are not serving...touch base with your leader today and get back on board!!!
No guilt, no pressure...just do it  Remember ALL for ONE!

OR #2 This week we have an AMAZING opportunity to bless & serve the City of Rochester!!!

This Saturday, August 24th at the Rochester Commons we are doing our Back To School Outreach from 11am to 5pm.

We need: people to set up, run booths, serve food & drinks, help with registration, giving out backpacks, give away clothes, face paint, help with kids games, cleanup....Something for everyone!
