Pastor Rob's Notes:

John 10:2-5
Four basic ways that God speaks to us today in 2013:

1. God's voice can be heard in His Word!

Just because we're talking about God's voice doesn't mean He will always speak to us using words.
God is a supernatural God and if we look closely in God's Word you'll see examples where God's voice can be heard through:

  • Angels—Gen.16
  • Visions—Gen.15
  • Dreams—Gen.28
  • Garments of the High Priest—Ex.28
  • Symbolic Actions—Jer.18
  • A Gentle Whisper—1Kings19
  • Miraculous Signs—Ex.8
  • Burning Bush—Ex.3
  • A Donkey—Num.22

2. God's voice can be heard through His Holy Spirit!

Rom. 8:16 says,
16 “For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.”

3. God's voice can be heard through His people.

Prov.11:14 says “without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many advisers.

4. God's voice can be heard through circumstances and experiences.

Rom.1:20 says,

For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

He cares enough about life's details and He speaks through them. There's a reason why things happen the way they do!!!

Many times God is shouting to us in our circumstances & experiences but we're so fixed on doing things the way we've always done them, that we just can't see what God is saying.

So are we listening?
Can you hear Him!?!?
