Pastor Rob's Notes
Luke 9:62
“Anyone who puts a hand to the plow
and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.”
Too many of us spend too much time living in the past... BUT 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “... anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! ”
And all regret about the past does is waste the present. In fact, you can’t be useful for the Lord today if you’re busy focusing on yesterday...
So let’s look at what the Bible has to say about your past:
- Don’t Look Back On Past Sins
- Don’t Look Back On Past Defeats
- Don’t Look Back On Past Conflicts
- Don’t Look Back On Your Past as Being “Glorious”
- Don’t Look Back On Past Victories (as if you'll never be victorious AGAIN!)
Philippians 3:13-14 says,
“No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead...
I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. .”
Don't look back on past sins, on past defeats, on past conflicts, on your past as being glorious, and on past victories (as if you'll never be victorious AGAIN)...
God has a plan & a purpose for your life & He's NOT done with you yet!!!
We need to look to Jesus! And...
