James 3:2-10

Reason #1 To Watch Your Words Is:

Because our words can direct us and others in life.

Proverbs 18:21 says, "death and life are in the power of the tongue."

Reason #2 To Watch Your Words Is:

Because our words can destroy us and others.

Eph 4:29 says, “Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them”.

Reason #3 To Watch Your Words Is:

Because our words display who we really are and what's in our hearts.

Ezek 18:31 says, “Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit...”

We need to ask God for help daily cause we need His power in our lives.

Sidlow Baxter said, The proof that God's Spirit is in your life is not that you speak in an unknown tongue but that you control the tongue that you know.

And we can't do this on our own. We need go to the Lord and He gives us the power not to gossip, not to lie, and not to react foolishly in anger.
So it's the Lord that helps us to manage our mouths, to get rid of our stinkin thinkin, and to get rid of our junk!

And Spring Cleaning is what God does in our lives when we spend time with Him and realize that who we are doesn't reflect who He is....And now is the time to change that!!!
